Manual Mode

Admission to Examination :
A candidate preferring manual mode of examination is required to submit the examination entry(Annexure-III) form duly completed by the candidate and countersigned by the authorized official of the sponsoring insurer.If the candidate wishes to appear for both life and General branches,he/she shall have to submit two separate entry forms,one each from the two sponsoring companies.Each entry form,shall be accompanied by the examination fee of Rs.200(Rs.400 for Life & General Insurance) and two photographs.These are to be submitted to the Insurance Institute of India,Universal Insurance Building,6th Floor,Sir P.M.Road,Fort,Mumbai-400001l,through the sponsoring Insurance company.

Payment of Examination Fee :
The examination fee must be remitted along with the form by way of consolidated demand draft favoring Insurance Institute of India payable at Mumbai.

Admission Card :
No candidate will be allowed to appear for the examination unless he produces the Admission Card.The Admission cards will be issued by the sponsoring insurer.

Examination Dates/Venue :
Examinations are conducted on the dates and venues mutually agreed upon between the sponsoring insurer and the Institute ,provided that at least 20 candidates are ready to appear for the examination are to be borne by the sponsoring Insurance company.The venue would generally be the place where the training is conducted,unless the presiding Officer appointed for the purpose considers the place unsuitable because of inadequate lighting or ventilation or space to accommodated candidates allowing for reasonable distance between each other,or any other reason.The decision of the Presiding Officer will be final and binding.
A sponsoring insurer shall submit to the respective examination entry forms alongwith fees and photographs at least 30 days before the date of examination.Further the sponsoring insurer will also submit to the Institute a computer floppy of 1.44 MB containing examinees data as per the following specifications. (a) Database should be Prepared under FoxPro preferably 2.5version or excel. (b) Database should contain Following information:

1. Name char (40) (Name of the Candidate)
2. Roll No. Char (8) (Roll No. of the Candidate)

Certificate of Attendance:
A certificate of Attendance is issued to candidates who appear for Institute’s examination at the listed centres,by the Presiding Officers or by the authorized Invililators.The Institute will not entertain any request for separate certificate.

Results :
Sponsoring insurers are intimated the results of the candidates sponsored by them within 5 days from the date of examination.Candidates who pass the examination receive certificates of having passed the examination in due course of time through their sponsoring insurer.
Requests for re-valuation of papers and reconsideration of the result is not entertained.However,requests for re-checking of the result,i.e. re-totaling of marks and verifying that no question is left unevaluated in the paper,is entertained. All requests for rechecking must be received through the sponsoring insurer,along with a remittance of Rs.50/-.The result on rechecking of marks is communicated within a month’s time to the candidate through the sponsoring insurer.Requests for break-up of marks question wise is not entertained.
Candidates who have been declared as failed in the examination should contact their sponsoring insurer to enroll for the next pre-recruitment test.


Discipline

I) Candidates will be permitted to appear for the examination only after verification of the “Admission Card “, duly attested by the sponsoring insurer.

II) Candidates should occupy their seats in the examination room atleast ten minutes before the scheduled time for the examination.

III) Candidates will not be admitted to the examination room after the expiry of half an hour from the scheduled time fixed for the commencement of the examination.

IV) Each candidate who is supplied with a question-cum-answer book,even if the paper is not attempted.

V) Candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall during the first 30 minutes.

VI) Candidates must :
(i) display admission card on the left hand side of the desk.

(ii) Not begin writing until permission to commence is announced by the invigilator.

(iii) Refrain from writing their name anywhere in the answer book,and from making any comments in their answer book,other than those necessary in answering questions.

(iv) Cease writing as soon as the presiding official has notified that the scheduled time has elapsed.

(v) Not take into the examination room books,papers or any written materials.He may bring calculator.

VII) Failure to observe any of these rules will render the candidate liable to disqualification or other penalty as determined by the Institute.

VIII) For conduct of examination and allowing entry to candidates as per rules,the decisions of the presiding officer will be final and binding.
